As many of my computer pals will know, I got my start in the computer world with Commodore computers. Starting with the Commodore 64, I progressed to the Commodore Amiga 500, followed by the 1200, and finally finishing up (some years after Commodore sung their last song, I must admit), the beauty of the Amiga line, the Amiga 4000. Being a teenager, living on a teenager’s salary (that being at the time £10 a week), my budget never stretched to being able to afford the games of the time (£25 was a lot to pay for a single game), so I fed my habit by buying Freeware and Shareware from two of my favourite PD libraries, 17 Bit Software and Amiganuts United.

Now this fellow on the left should be familiar to fellow Amiganuts. That face, those ears, in a shell, is our Amiganuts mascot, and came printed on the front of any disk ordered from Amiganuts United and starred in all their ads. Now, I never saw him drawn so well by Ray, so where has this high quality photo come from?

The truth will be shocking to you, my fellow Amiga fans. It is with much regret, and much sadness, I must tell you the TRUTH about where our favourite mascot has got to!

The truth is, my friends, this fellow - and he has a name, Noid - has gone from promoting our beloved Amiga computer to promoting….. Domino’s Pizza!!

Yes, it’s true my friends. I know you will be sad to here this, but our friend Noid is a mascot of Domino’s. And he’s not even the goodie! He spends his time smashing up pizzas and throwing pizza delivery guys off their delivery bikes!! What a terrible, terrible downfall for our Noid. From a high player in the computer world, he’s now nothing but a neurotic vandal with a grudge against people on bikes delivering pizza!

Now, we hate to see this happen to Noid. We really hope he gets himself sorted out soon. Maybe he misses the limelight and resorted to becoming a vandal in order to stay in the limelight. If so, we have this to say to you noid: you should know your fellow Amiganuts will never forget you! To us, you still represent Amiga! You earned a special place in our hearts and then you go and do this! Shame on you!

We hope that you get it all sorted out soon Noid, we Amiganuts remember you with affection, as a good guy who did great things. We know you’ve still got great potential! We hope you all get it sorted out soon and we stand ready to welcome you back!
