Birdhouse Webcam Project

We’ve started work on an interesting little project here at 49HQ! Dad’s decided to get a birdhouse for feeding, so I’ve decided to go the hi-tech route and we’re going to hook up a webcam to it so we’ll be able to see what the birds are upto without disturbing them.
I already have the hardware (iMac plus iSight) and software (EvoCam), all I need to do is register the software and get an extra-long FireWire Cable so the webcam can reach the back garden.
If all goes well, in the next few weeks, Webcam.Crietzman.Org will go live, and you’ll be able to see the Birdhouse! It’ll be in testing for the next couple of weeks so sometimes it will be up filming various test objects, othertimes it’ll be down. We’ll keep you updated.
Update 10/04/06: The Birdcam is now live! It operates normally from 8am or 8:30am until 9pm. You can access it HERE (Java-compatible browsers; continually updated) and for those without Java (or behind a company firewall e.g. NTL) you can check it out HERE, but note this is a still image, you’ll need to use your browser’s ‘RELOAD’ button to refresh image until I sort out a more elegant solution.
