Settling In
April 1st, 2006We’ve been in Bourne for a week now, and apparently we’re settling in just fine! The experiment of living with my parents for a while is working out well - our bedroom is fitted out with all our gear, and with the aid of an El Gato EyeTV 310 Unit we’re able to receive free-to-air satellite channels via our iMac. The software has a built-in, regularly updated weekly Electronic Program Guide, from which we just “point-and-click” the programs we’d like it to record, and the software does the rest, saving programs to the Mac’s hard disk for later viewing when we’re ready. This means we’re able to watch what we want from the comfort of our own bedroom while our parents watch stuff downstairs we’re not so keen on.
For those who were worried how we’d get along, it’s all working out great so far - we’re not at each other’s throats - far from it in fact! My dad likes having activity about the place and mum’s appreciating all the help around the house, which we’re offering for free (because we’re nice like that!)
Later in the week I’ll be cooking my famous Coca Cola Chicken recipe, and Louise is planning to fix us up a ‘Teriyaki Salmon with Stir-Fry Vegetables’, which will be nice I’m sure!
Tonight, we’re all heading out to the Yang Xian Restaurant, which just happens to be our favourite Chinese Restaurant on the planet (which I’m sure a few of you have been told about already, being one of Bourne’s star attractions in our view!) We’re celebrating our move to Bourne. Expected to be on the menu today is mixed oer d’herves and sweetcorn and chicken soup, followed by crispy aromatic duck, followed by Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, Spare Ribs ‘Yang Xian Style’ (made from juicy chunks of marinaded belly pork!), and no doubt a fish and a prawn-based dish, to be decided later! (We’ll let you know)
Hope you’re all well and thanks for reading our blog, as always feel free to write to us. We can be reached at STEVE at (OUR SURNAME) dot ORG, and LOUISE at (OUR SURNAME) dot ORG. Replace the ‘at’ with the @ symbol, the ‘dot’ with a ‘.’ and (OUR SURNAME) with, well, I’m sure you can work that out! Real email address isn’t printed here because nasty automated programs called ’spiders’ can harvest email addresses from public websites and bombard with you unwanted emails about viagra, university degrees and porn! (I hate spam!)
Type to you all again soon, in the meantime, please feel free to drop us an email we’d love to hear from you all!
